The XI. International Symposium on History Education (ISHE 2025) will be held in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University between September 2-4, 2025.

About the Symposium

The International Symposium on History Education (ISHE) is a prestigious academic event that was established in 2010 with the aim of fostering collaboration and dialogue among scholars, educators, and students who are actively engaged in the multifaceted fields of history education, the history of education, and historiography. By bringing together a diverse group of participants, ISHE seeks to create a vibrant platform for the exchange of ideas, research findings, and innovative teaching practices that can enhance the understanding and appreciation of history in educational contexts.

Each year, the symposium is hosted in different cities across Turkey, reflecting the country's rich historical and cultural heritage while also providing a unique backdrop for scholarly discussions. The choice of location not only highlights Turkey's significance in the study of history but also allows participants to engage with local historical narratives and educational practices. The symposium's objective is to disseminate contemporary developments and discussions within these disciplines to a wide range of audiences, including educators, policymakers, and the general public, thereby promoting a deeper understanding of history and its relevance in today's world.

In 2025, the 11th ISHE will be held in the picturesque city of Nevşehir, known for its stunning landscapes and historical sites, under the auspices of Hacı Bektaş Veli University. Scheduled to take place from September 2 to September 4, this year's symposium promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees. Participants can look forward to a diverse program that includes keynote speeches from leading experts, panel discussions, workshops, and opportunities for networking and collaboration. The event aims to inspire new research initiatives, foster interdisciplinary connections, and ultimately contribute to the advancement of history education and historiographical studies on a global scale.
